(HOI)<\/span>,<\/span> w<\/span>h<\/span>o pioneered <\/span>an<\/span> initiative in 2017<\/span> to bring<\/span> eggs to more people <\/span>and <\/span>much <\/span>earlier in <\/span>their <\/span>live<\/span>s too!<\/span> Combined with <\/span>production <\/span>support and <\/span>technical <\/span>services<\/span>,<\/span> a flock <\/span>of <\/span>1<\/span>,<\/span>500 <\/span>H&N <\/span>Super<\/span> Nick<\/span> pullets produced by <\/span>H&N Distributor <\/span>INHASA and <\/span>donated by H&N<\/span> International<\/span> just arrived at <\/span>HOI<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s <\/span>\u201cHuevos <\/span>el<\/span> Rey\u201d<\/span> farm<\/span>,<\/span> which is <\/span>operated<\/span> by <\/span>Claudio <\/span>and Blanca <\/span>Aguirre<\/span>. <\/span><\/span>The support of <\/span>all<\/span> partners and the <\/span>H&N <\/span>pullets will allow<\/span> the Aguirres <\/span>to<\/span> greatly increase<\/span> the quantity of eggs <\/span>they<\/span> produce for HOI’s <\/span>\u201c<\/span>First 1000 Days of Life<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span> nutrition progra<\/span><\/span>m.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\"\"\n\nFew<\/span> natural product<\/span>s<\/span> can <\/span>compare in terms of nutritional value<\/span>, <\/span>not to mention the ingenious <\/span>product <\/span>packaging<\/span> worthy of <\/span>any <\/span>design<\/span> award<\/span>!<\/span> H&N birds\u2019 <\/span>proven <\/span>track record<\/span> of <\/span>world-<\/span>leading eggshell strength<\/span> helps in transporting the eggs to families that often live <\/span>very <\/span>remotely<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\n

By providing an essential source of high-quality protein, vitamins, trace minerals, and nutrients to the mother and child during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and infancy stages, the program addresses the nutritional needs crucial for optimal growth and development. Facilitating market expansion<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\nTo sustain <\/span>the <\/span>availability <\/span>of <\/span>local <\/span>hi<\/span>gh<\/span>-quality <\/span>egg-protein<\/span>,<\/span> modern production<\/span> also<\/span> needs <\/span>support. <\/span> Present-day <\/span>l<\/span>ayer breeding and egg production <\/span>evolved<\/span> from <\/span>a <\/span>niche<\/span> industry<\/span> or <\/span>the regard as <\/span>supplementary <\/span>food into a <\/span>mainstream future business<\/span> of modern <\/span>healthy <\/span>eating<\/span>. Claudio has over ten years\u2019 experience in egg production. Supported by <\/span>HOI, Claudio began raising a small backyard flock a decade ago. And as a result, he and his wife Blanca were chosen to be the producers when the \u201cFirst 1000 Days of Life\u201d program started in 2017. Initially there was a group of ten families, and with the support of a medical doctor and a nutritionist the program kept growing. <\/span> <\/span>\n\n\u201cThe role our medical staff plays in the deployment and follow through of the program is instrumental. Selecting families, training and educating mothers, caring for the expectant mother and the newborn-infant-toddler, they really are the engine that keeps it going.\u201d, explains Camila Reina.<\/span> <\/span>\n\n <\/span>Growth is a great thing, however Claudio also knows that bigger flocks mean bigger responsibilities. Ready to take the quantum leap, support for his endeavour comes from more than one side: <\/span> <\/span>\n\n <\/span>Consultant <\/span>Paul Pressley<\/span><\/b>, <\/span>retired from the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, met many poultry producers during his career. He understands concerns of handling flocks multi times in size. Paul also remembers the early days of the program, when in 2018 HOI and OneEgg.org began their collaboration to supply one egg a day to families in the Agalta Valley. \u201cOneEgg.org played a key role in initiating things and has been a major supporter ever since!\u201d <\/span> <\/span>\n\n <\/span>Back then, the eggs were produced in a small layer house with 400 floor raised hens. The program expanded into a new 3000 square foot hen house with caged systems. Now the next plan is to increase from 400 to 1500 birds and ultimately to full capacity of about 3000 hens, which will allow the \u201cFirst 1000 Days of Life\u201d program to expand and also provide eggs to the local school.<\/span> <\/span>\n

R<\/span>ely on (K)AI<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\nSo far, production tracking only covered weekly egg production and mortality. Consistently meeting and exceeding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) provided the important foundation and reassuring factor to scale up. <\/span> <\/span>\n\n <\/span>Paul advocates facilitating and speeding up analysis of important criteria such as feed consumption, egg mass, and body weight with targeted Artificial Intelligence (AI). To control the greater capacity, Paul and Claudio will also rely on KAI, H&N Internationals digital farming assistance. KAI offers additional measurements and AI-aided production surveillance with task reminders, 24\/7 help and tips. Data can easily be exchanged between various languages, such as Spanish and English, flawlessly and barrier free.<\/span> <\/span>\n

    • Honduras Outreach Inc. (<\/span><\/b>HOI) <\/span><\/b>pioneered the \u201cFirst 1000 Days of Life\u201d initiative, starting in 2017. HOI is a development nongovernmental organization (NGO) working in rural Honduras since 1989 with outreach initiatives in education, healthcare, clean water, community development, spiritual life, and agricultural economic development. The operation is run by a multinational team led by <\/span>CEO <\/span><\/b>Camila Reina<\/span><\/b> and managed onsite by <\/span>Jos\u00e9 Crozier, Director of Operations<\/span><\/b>. At present HOI operates a school and four health clinics providing medical assistance and care to the expectant mothers, as well as a population of 16000 Hondurans in rural areas since 1989. Part of HOI is also a farm with cattle, crops and, of course, \u201cHuevos el Rey\u201d for egg production. HOI is committed to improving health, education, and agricultural development, providing training for setting up small, agricultural businesses.<\/span> \n <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
